Yes, today is my annual visit from the furnace repair person - because my ignitor has grown old and frail. At least, that's probably the problem. It usually is. It's such a pain waking up to a house that's cold and coming home to a house that's cold. A place loses an awful lot of hominess when you're shivering in the living room.

Work is work. It's keeping me very busy. I hope to catch up in a few more days so I have time to start organizing things again which will make it easier to keep caught up without all of this running around. It's still the honeymoon period with everyone so glad to have me they'll put up with less than the excellent service they've missed while I was gone.

We'll see - it's a race between my ability to catch up and their patience with my not being caught up.

Never buy books at Walmart. That book of quotes and sayings I got the other day - very poorly done. An over emphasis on biblical quotes and Christian viewpoint on top of pretty poor editing. Under the same heading you can find two quotes which are identical except for minor variations in the wording. For example, "The buck stopped before it got here" and "The buck stopped before it got to me." Why have both? Why have the same saying repeated two or three or more times under different headings? The headings aren't really catagories at all, just some more or less representative word like "Leadership" or "Money". Too many headings, many with only one phrase listed.

A great many aren't attributed in any way. Not even "anonymous".
Sure, there's still some great sayings - a few diamonds among the dross, but I'd have been better off reading a web-site listing quotes. I finally gave up on the book and started in on the history of Japan I got at the library.
