Gray Sunday

Yes, it's dark and damp this morning. No problem, I had no plans for today. At least yesterday was nice, which is a good thing since it was the day of the Somersworth International Children's Festival - a local annual street fair which probably provides a much needed boost to the local economy since there isn't much else to bring in money in this town.

It was also a good day for doing some yard work, so I did. Fresh air and sunshine and down on the ground getting dirt on my hands. Some day my yard will look the way I want it to. Then it will be time to sell.

Last night was quiet. Too quiet. Amanda is with her boyfriend for the weekend, Alex went off with his girlfriend for the weekend, and Eric covered someone's third shift stint at his new job, so he's been gone overnight. No dog anymore, and currently no one living on the other side of our duplex. I was completely and utterly alone in the house for the first time ... ever. During the day doesn't count. It was the first time in well over a decade I went to sleep alone in the house knowing I would still be alone when I woke up. I think I will definitely get a dog when the kids move out. Or maybe a cat.
