Slightly Anemic

Actually, when I got out of work at 2:30 I was fine. But there was this blood drive on campus. And they asked if I wanted to do the double red cells thing. So here I am, pretty well full up on fluids but low on red cells. And the fluids coming back in are COLD. So here I am, home, feeling virtuous, cold and a little light headed.

But enough about me. What's everyone else up to?

Wondering who's stupid enough to let Facebook own their every move (Facebook Home announcement today).

Facebook's bad enough when when people gift it with data, now it can collect it without your knowledge or informed consent. Of course Google may already be doing this on Android, it certainly collects GPS and WiFi data from all Android phones ("the better to geolocate you with"). So maybe it's no worse than any other Android phone, you're just owned by a different company. Or probably both of them.

Fortunately, it will be a cold day in Hell when Apple allows someone else access to all their user location and activity data constantly.

Huh? That's what I was up to yesterday -- ranting about the stupid Facebook Home thing.

I suppose it's semi-obscure unless you follow the tech blogs minutely. Facebook wants to turn your Android phone into a 24-hour push service showing everything that's happening on your Facebook feed. And as part of that, they get to watch nearly everything you do on said phone, including launch other apps, and what other apps are doing with notifications. Big Brother time... or maybe Creepy Old "Uncle" Next Door time....
