Sorry. I hate holidays, and this one is more insidious than most. Everyone expects you to be cheerful and in the spirit of things. I was married to a florist for 18 years. Valentine's Day was tricky. How to acknowledge the day and maybe inject a little romance while not touching off any anxiety because she'd been dealing with desperate idiots for the previous days. And I was never really good at the romance stuff. Thus, no doubt, my current lack of need to worry about it.
In the end, I agree with Charlie Brown's assessment. "I know nobody likes me. Why do we need a day to emphasize the fact?"
