Well I first started using the net-handle Prophet Marcus way back when in alt.callahans. It is actually the short form of the name/title Prophet Marcus, Heirarch and senior (living) Prophet of the First Church of Mad Scientist. This came from a character designed for use in the IOU board on the Steve Jackson BBS. Never used it much in IOU, but we had fun with it on A.C.
