Aggravating Day!
Apr. 27th, 2005 06:51 pmIt really was. Work was frantic with the normal workload plus odds and ends. Then I had to catch a ride with a coworker to the town between work and home for an appointment with a therapist.
Did I mention it's pouring rain today? I had to kill over an hour waiting, and part of that consisted of walking from where I was dropped off to the therapist's office, and a store to get change to call and see if my car was ready.
So I'm awfully damp waiting in the office but the session itself was pretty good. When I get out it's still pouring and I have to walk to the bus stop but I'm feeling not too bad.
Bus arrives in Somersworth, drops me a quarter mile from the garage where my car awaits me. Slosh, slosh, there's my car, pointed at the road, ready to go. The garage is closed but they were going to leave the key in the glove box.
They didn't. I spend fifteen minutes digging in every corner trying to find the key. (Did I mention I only have one key? I only have one key. Must do something about that someday.) I finally give up and trudge home, half a mile or so. Squish, squish.
And my son tells me the garage called earlier and they were going to leave the key over the sun-visor. Fine, grab an umbrella and trudge back. Sure, I'd already checked there, but I'll try again.
Back to the car and look again. Still no key. Here I am at a closed garage digging around a parked car in full view of the street wondering if anyone will think it odd. Especially the police across the street. The garage is right across the street from the police station.
Just as I'm about to give up and go back home, one of the mechanics walks up and hands me the key. He'd stayed late and noticed me as he was preparing to leave. Now I'm home, drying out and cooling off. It's been a long and annoying day and I've skipped many, many details. Just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.
