I hate bureaucracy
May. 26th, 2005 02:00 pmOkay, I understand the why's and wherefor's of it all, but getting a divorce it just so damn complicated. They mail me all of the paperwork and I have to make sure that Trish gets her copies myself. Process server (York county sherrif's department - fee $65,) or certified mail with a return receipt. Oh, yeah and she has to be there when they deliver or they try again until they find her or she finds them. That'll be tough with her work schedule and doing it this way has a deadline of 7 days - from yesterday.
Of course, I can hand it to her myself, but that requires a special form for non-standard serving which I have to pick up and she has to sign in front of a notary.
Maybe if they made getting married this difficult, there'd be fewer divorces.
Let's not even get into the latest bank snafu. Some vacation. Not a glimpse of sun for a week is depressing enough, but an assortment or crises and annoyances is really getting me down.
