Finished with class
Jun. 28th, 2005 08:02 pmTonight was the final session of my Critical Thinking class. A few last reports were delivered, we went around the class with everyone commenting on what they thought of the class and what they got out of it. One of our classmates wasn't on hand because he just left for training for deployment to Iraq. We hold him in our thoughts.
There was also a brief foodfight between the professor and one of our younger students. Not much. He pulled a trick and smeared her hand with strawberry. She relatiated with yogurt dip. Peace returned.
I think I'll be getting an "A" for the class. I got "A's" on all of the tests and papers that I recall and I was fairly active in class paticipation.
The professor's comments scribbled on the test he handed back tonight:
"You're definitely one of the brightest minds I've come across in Critical Thinking - and one of the most autonomous and idiosyncratic - poet/warrior/priest/magician. You were a blast and you bring wonderful wit and many intellectual gifts to the table."
Yeah, I like him, too. I suspect him of using such ego-stroking on all of his students as encouragement. Still, it's nice to hear nice things. Frankly, I owe it all to my many years on alt.callahans. I'm thinking of emailing the professor and urging him to check it out and share it with his future classes.
