Literary Overkill and Roadkill

Here I am, standing on the top floor of the University Of New Hampshire Dimond Library, trying not to scream.
This library has, by hand-count, thirty-two separate books about "Finnegan's Wake."
It seems to have zero copies of the actual book itself.
Can someone explain this to me?
