Assorted Life Stuff
Aug. 1st, 2005 05:55 amAlex's birthday went by pretty well. It was just our family, his girlfriend's family and one of his local friends, but as he pointed out, his birthday has usually involved only family. It was nice to get a chance to spend some time with Jenny and her mother - get to know them before we entrust Alex to their care for two weeks. (I had to put my foot down to keep it from getting longer. Alex has a doctor's appointment and has to get ready for school starting. Plus me just being twitchy. He's only fifteen and so forth.)
Amanda came home from her trip to Montreal with her friends. They had a great time although it was inconvenient for them not knowing any French. Amanda had sore feet from walking everywhere in the city.
Trish and I got to talk a little. Mostly, as usual, I listened while she cried and said how sorry she is for hurting me and the kids. Fine, but sorry don't milk the chickens, y'know? She mentioned that she wasn't going to fight me on any of the arrangements, which I'd already figured since there bloody well isn't much to fight over. We each keep what is ours, when I eventually sell the house, she gets half of the money, and meanwhile, we share custody of the remaining minor children (Alex) while I have physical custody and remain in residence.
One week to go. Yeah, I'm kind of nervous, but anxious to get it over with and see if I can't kick myself into finally starting a new life of some sort. I suspect it will not be as easy as that.
