Eric's left for Portland with his recruiter. They were supposed to leave at 5 PM (1700) but for some reason, at the last minute, the recruiter decided he was going to show up 4 hours early, so I didn't even get to give my son a last hug and goodbye in person. Such is the Army life, I understand.
