So thanks to a scheduling snafu I saw the doctor but not the audiologist. I talked to the doctor for a few minutes and he scoped and stuff but says he can't really give me any real information until after my hearing test - which has been rescheduled for next tuesday.
On the positive side, no one seems overly concerned like there might be serious problems. On the negative side, 95% of tinnitus can only be "treated" by use of some sort of white noise device to mask the ringing. I gather that most of the remaining 5% can't be treated at all. Thus the occasional suicides my doctor dropped mention of. Thanks, doc!
I'm sure I can learn to live with this. It only gets annoying when the local noise level drops to almost nothing. White noise. Heck, I could probably get or make some sort of white noise file for the computer.
Such fun.
