So thanks to a scheduling snafu I saw the doctor but not the audiologist. I talked to the doctor for a few minutes and he scoped and stuff but says he can't really give me any real information until after my hearing test - which has been rescheduled for next tuesday.

On the positive side, no one seems overly concerned like there might be serious problems. On the negative side, 95% of tinnitus can only be "treated" by use of some sort of white noise device to mask the ringing. I gather that most of the remaining 5% can't be treated at all. Thus the occasional suicides my doctor dropped mention of. Thanks, doc!

I'm sure I can learn to live with this. It only gets annoying when the local noise level drops to almost nothing. White noise. Heck, I could probably get or make some sort of white noise file for the computer.

Such fun.

Certainly better camoflage. Now where to begin?"

"I've got the first couple of steps worked out already - I've had time to think while waiting for you to show."

"Enlighten me further then, dead prophet."

"You start with a small place, a small group, just to establish your bona fides. Then, you head for IOU, just like we planned originally. But instead of the teaching jobs we had lined up before, you become campus chaplain." Frank's voice sounded smugly certain this could be done with little trouble. Marcus was not sanguine. The Arch-dean was a lady with an eye to results and the bottom line. Still...
