Health Issues
Sep. 6th, 2006 02:48 pmI come home from work early yesterday - about 6 hours early. Total misery from this cold I've got. Sore throat and runny nose and exhaustion from no sleep yesterday. I tried again today and managed almost four hours of work. Sore throat has been replaced with coughing and fever. Taking meds and lots of juice. Hate to think how I'd feel without them.
I also had a hearing test yesterday. They didn't tell me much that I didn't know already. Some hearing loss on the low frequencies. Fine in the middle. Lots of loss in the upper frequencies. This appears to explain why I often have trouble making out what people are saying. It seems that consonants are heard in the upper ranges so all I'm listening to are a bunch of random vowels.
I next get an hour long test for nerve response. Luckily, the doctor says it's actually better if I fall asleep, which I'm likely to do lying on a table with a couple electrodes glued to my head.
In case I haven't made it plain - I hate doctors' offices almost as much as I hate hospitals, which is a real lot. Don't get sick. I might come visit you, but I'll be miserable the whole time.
