Today was a beautiful New England Autumn day. Bright, warm sun but cool breezes with a touch of winter-to-come. Some leaves have begun turning but actual foliage is still a couple of weeks away. I'm thinking about walks, lately. Walks on the beach. Walks in the woods. Walks on sidewalks strewn with fallen leaves.
Of course, I could take any of these walks any time I like, but they're no good alone. I don't need to wallow in alone any more.
Maybe the upcoming pow-wow will cheer me up. Of course, a pow-wow is more fun with someone else along, too, but at least I know a few folks there - probably. Find out how Standing Owl is doing - see if he's got another CD out or on the way. Just listen to the drums and savor the cedar and sweetgrass on the breeze. Last chance before winter. I'd better find out when it is.
