Heating Solutions
Feb. 28th, 2007 04:23 pmWell, the financing for my new furnace has been arranged, thanks to the best friends in the world. Tomorrow, I'm going to run up to the heating company and hand over the paperwork to start the ball rolling. Since Spring Break is coming up the week after next, I figure I'll arrange for the work to be done then. That way I won't have to miss any work since I'll be on vacation anyway.
In other news, yesterday was Eric's 20th birthday. And he's coming home at the end of March. The Army still has not informed him as to whether he's getting a general discharge or an honorable discharge. As far as I can tell, the main difference is that with an honorable discharge, he would be able to enlist in the military in the future if he so desired. Of course, they're sending him away because he is no longer physically fit for military service - they broke him. I only hope he gets enough VA benefits to pay for any medical treatments this will require. His hip still hurts, but it sounded like other than the pain, it isn't interfering too much with everyday activity.
His mother, of course, is delighted that he's getting out. I think I am more concerned about the fact that he's of two minds about the whole thing. He had made his decisions and plans and now they've been derailed and he has to start all over again with new plans. Trish just wants him out of the Army.
Still, as far as new plans go, he's already started looking into employment options. He has an interview lined up with an auto dealership nearby. That would be interesting. He doesn't have a drivers' license yet!
