Elevator! Elevator! I got the shaft.
Jun. 21st, 2007 04:29 pmBut it's the mechanical room which is the problem. Apparently, building inspectors have finally noticed that the elevator in the building I work in is not up to code. The machinery which operates it is currently located in a crawl-space under the elevator shaft itself. This is no longer permitted. So now we have to relocate this stuff. And we have a perfect location for it.
Of course, I am currently using that particular location for storing a bunch of food items - sauces, spices, condiments and such. It's a small room, but very important to my current arrangement. Sometimes I think that the powers above just want to test my motto, "We'll manage!" Test it to destruction.
Still, there's always a vague hope that the updated elevator will move slightly faster than 1/2 foot per minute. No, I'm not kidding.
