Another Weekend

Not much going on. Yesterday with the help of some guildmates I got my Epic Paladin Mount in World of Warcraft. Now, with no specific goals very near I can relax and just fool around there for a while. Until I get a few more levels and it's time to start on the next major project - a flying mount.

In other news, I'm going to see my dad today. It's been several weeks since I've been. Stuff you know, but it's all just excuses in the end. I haven't even heard from my brother how he's been doing lately. I'm surprised my mother hasn't been bugging me more about it. Just because she's been dead for twenty-odd years doesn't mean she can't still get on my case about stuff.

Later that same day

So I went to see my dad. He's improved quite a bit since I saw him last. He is speaking pretty well now and is fully aware of his surroundings. It would be hard to say we had an actual conversation, but then we never talked much before his stroke. He is beginning to feed himself too and rather impatient with the aides who try to feed him. Impatient and rather rude too, which is not like the dad I remember. It's probably still too soon to tell if this stems from frustration or is a result of the damage to his brain. I understand that personality changes are common in brain injury cases.

Still, overall the news is good. He told me to visit more often.
