The Debates

With the primary coming up on tuesday, I watched the debates last night. The candidates and moderators managed to avoid some dangerous issues like torture and impeachement. Actually, they all stuck to areas where there are only cosmetic differences among the candidates. I still don't like Guiliani and don't trust Romney. McCain was just too bland. Huckabee didn't come across too badly, but fails to pique my interest. Paul is still a libertarian no matter what he says. If he could control his tendency to speak like a conspiracy nut (or is that as a conspiracy nut?) he might be a possibility. I don't really want to vote for any of them.

Among the democrats, there's lots of passion. I still like Bill Richardson. Barak Obama would make a good vice-president and then after four or eight years of apprenticeship become a good president. He's a crusader and what we need is an administrator who will make adjustments and corrections. Hillary Clinton might or might not benefit from being vice-president. I see no hope for Edwards. Make him Senate Majority Leader or give him a cabinet post. Attorney General. That might work.

Maybe I'll write Richardson onto the republican ballot.
