February thoughts
Feb. 12th, 2009 04:20 pmSaturday is the Feast of Saint Valentine, right? Sorry, but I'm with Charlie Brown on this one:
"I know nobody likes me. Why do we need a day to emphasize the fact?"
According to my divorce papers, Trish moved out in February of 2004. That, of course, is the final, official date. She actually left in October of 2003 except for a few days here and there. That means I've been alone for five and a half years with only one date in that entire time. And calling that a date is a bit of an exaggeration, really.
Yeah, you've heard me whine about all of this time and time again. The point here is that I was thinking about things today and in the back of my head, it's been a little over two years since my divorce. But in fact, it's been over four years. I really have no time sense, and I had to refer to my papers to determine the actual dates. It isn't that these events have had so little impact that they don't stick in my memory, but rather, my memory, which is bad for everything, is especially bad about time. And getting worse.
So anyway, happy Valentine's Day to everyone (yes, I'm early, but take this as a hint to go out and do something for your sweetie. Make plans now if you haven't already.)
