Not only is being sick no fun in and of itself, but when it means I have to take a day off from work, it also means going back is no fun at all. As far as I can see, no one knows what it is I do all day. Therefor, if I'm not there doing it, it doesn't get done. Which today meant I came in to work to find two pallets of food sitting in my freezer - with more coming in. By the way, there is just barely room to put those two pallets into my freezer and then I have to squeeze around them to get to stuff. So much fun. And of course, what I spend most of my day doing is bringing up food which will be needed the next day. This did not happen while I was not there. So I had to do about half of yesterday's as well as all of today's work. And frankly, there is a difference between "feeling better" and "feeling good". I get very cranky when I'm under the weather. I get very cranky when people make my life more difficult than it needs to be at work. Today was a painful combination of both.
And did I mention, not only does my boss not know my job, he doesn't know his job that well either. He's the one who orders (most of) the food I put away. He's a little slow on the learning curve. A nice guy, but out of his depth here.
