Tuesday, About Town, With Sunburn
Aug. 7th, 2013 08:38 amI spent yesterday with Lynette, the woman I'm more or less dating these days. We walked around Dover. I showed her the places I'd grown up. We had pizza from La Festa in the park down by the river. We went to the top of Garrison Hill - where I'd never been before despite having lived my entire life in Dover and Somersworth. I only made it half way up the tower before my acrophobia kicked in and said 'enough'.
And somewhere in town, she lost her keys. Which she discovered when we got back to her car. So we had some ice cream at Friendly's while a friend of hers brought her spare keys - from Manchester. Glad she has such good friends.
And yes, six or seven hours of walking around on a beautiful day left with with a bit of sunburn on my face and neck. But watching the gathering twilight from a bench in downtown Dover, sitting next to a lady I'm rapidly becoming very fond of - now that makes this entire vacation week a success. Now if only the weather forecast for Friday evening would stop talking about rain, it would be just about perfect.
