Monday was mondayish

prophet_marcusActually, it started off quite well. I woke up to find all of the dishes had been washed and put away and the kitchen counters and stove clean. Since I know I didn't do it and I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as pixies, this leads me to the conclusion that one or more of my children did it. Almost certainly my daughter. Alex will do dishes and cleaning when I ask him to, but he's just not one to do them on his own volition. Heck, I'm the same way myself. If I weren't the dad and keep bugging me to do them, I never would.
So I wake up to a clean kitchen. What a wonderful way to start the week!
I needed that boost. Due to some horrendous clerical error, our order with our main vendor didn't go through. This means that while I got milk, bread and produce which all come from various secondary vendors, I got no meat, cheese, frozen goods, canned goods or dry goods. A couple of hundred cases worth of stuff most likely. Now most of the stuff which should have come in today is on the menu for tomorrow, so hopefully our emergency additions will cover whatever we don't happen to have hanging around, but a lot of stuff needs a certain amount of advance preparation, which won't be easy when it shows up tomorrow. Thus, while today ended up being a light-duty day, tomorrow will be extra hectic.
