Prophet Marcus began as a character name in an email RPG. Before that, I had picked up the nickname "Prophet" from playing with tarot cards. Not a standard deck at all, one I had devised myself. I was pretty good with them too.

Anyway, the email character was a highly fictionalized version of me. He began as Prince Marcus of the Sovereign Principality of the City-State of New Atlantis and Tourist Information Booth. Then he was deposed by his Minister of De-fence and became Royal Janitor Marcus. Sneaking off with some borrowed funds, he acquired a starship and became Captain Marcus of the Star (pizza) Delivery Vessel Frank Zappa. Once that got old, he started a religion and became Prophet Marcus of the First Church of Mad Scientist.

I Also used Prophet or Prophet Marcus as my net handles for many years while I was involved with alt.callahans. Most of my LJ friends I actually met in callahans.

Woah...what/when was that game? My freshman (I think) I was going to play in pbem (GURPS-ish, I think) RPG set in a returned Atlantis. I was going to be Minister of Da Fence.

Geeze, we're talking fifteen or twenty years back. Elizabeth might remember better as she was in on the SDV Frank Zappa game. Let's see, that was just before Steve Jackson games went on the internet with IO.com

God those were sorry bits of things to be sending to strangers - but each one made with love... and blood. Each and every patch has at least one drop of my blood. Something to remember if anyone needs a sample of my DNA.
