But that's normal for early March around here. The problem is that it's also cold *in* here. I woke up around 4 o'clock and thought it seemed a little chilly. So instead of going back to sleep for another 45 minutes as usual, I got up and looked at the thermostat which informs me that the temperature in my
bedroom is about 55F.

"Furnace has kicked off again! I hope it just needs a reset." Throw some clothes on, thrudge down into the basement, hit the switch on the furnace and wait for it.

A few seconds later the furnace kicks on. Why can't it ever do this in the middle of an unseasonably warm day instead of in the middle of an extra cold night? Gotta get that furnace looked at. That's the third time this has happened this winter. I can't wait for warmer weather.

I wish I could send some weather your way. Granted, we have earlier springs than you do as a matter of routine, but this year it's been so warm and dry, so early, that we're starting to worry about drought. No rain to speak of since mid-February!

I actually turned my furnace *off* last weekend because it was getting too warm.

My furnance has been doing the same thing. Part of the problem is that it is running out of fuel and I can't afford to replace it. Luckily we have some space heaters so I'm not in danger of freezing. The other part of the problem is that it is old and part of it got flooded a few years back.

I know I shouldn't be cheerful but my former brother-in-law is going to move in to this place when we move out and that means that my former father-in-law is going to have to deal with it properly.

Well fuel isn't the problem. Natural gas. And Despite Bush, I did get a bit of fuel assistance this winter. Don't know how it'll be next winter.

My furnace needs major maintenance and osme expensive repairs. I'm going to have to do some fancy budgeting but I have a plan.
