Prophecy I

The first problem with prophecy is the nearly irresistable urge for the prophet to share the prophecy. What the prophecy is a personal thing. It relates the prophet to the universe. It might not apply to anyone else.
The second problem is that prophecy is a very vague and chancy thing. Since in reality there is no angel reciting messages, no burning bush, but rather just an awareness of truth, this awareness is hard to separate from the normal thoughts which pass through the prophet's mind, the results are inevitably corrupted. The prophet's own desires and prejudices color the prophecies. I think we can all see the trouble this has caused.
What a prophet is supposed to teach is not the lessons learned from prophecy, but the techniques of prophecy. Of course, not every prophet knows the how of prophecy. In fact, few of them do, and the ones who do are not minded to share the secret of what makes them so special. A horrible error. It leads to dogma and authoritarian religion.
So succumbing to my own urge to share while avoiding the second error, I think I shall write about the how of prophecy. You see, I think everyone can be a prophet - and should be. Prophecy is a personal communication and relationship between a person and the universe.
Bear in mind that all that I will say is my own opinion and perception. I could be wrong in any or all of it. I could just be deluded. Oddly, this uncertainty and outright self-skepticism is a major portion of my system of prophecy.
So more later.
