Relationships

So there's this woman who lives across the river. She used to be Trish's best friend in the universe. They were so close I commonly referred to this woman as Trish's wife. (How close to true I was I only slightly suspected.) Anyway, this woman often runs into my daughter at the restaurant where she works. Apparently, she's become concerned for my emotional health and has begun telling Amanda that I need a woman and Amanda should find someone for me to date. (No, this is not at all convoluted as the woman is quite happily married. She's just happiest when she's 'helping' people.)

Okay, this is slightly annoying. On the other hand, I've not managed to run into anyone on my own in the past two years. Of course, I haven't really been doing much of anything to find anyone. I'm just not very sociable. I have looked into some online dating services, but they are rather expensive. Back in the days of my youth, I met women at church, at school or through friends (from church or school.) I won't go back to church and can't afford to take more than one class at a time. As for friends, I don't spend that much time visiting anymore. Just gotten out of the habit.

So until I kick my own butt back into gear, I'm going to stay alone.
