Happy Seuss Day
Mar. 2nd, 2010 04:39 pmYes, it is the anniversary of the birth of Theodore "Dr." Suess Geisel. At work, they are, for some unknown reason, celebrating this with a special meal. Dr Seuss decorations, green eggs and ham (guacamole and or pesto) and a sushi bar.
Okay, I'm sure there's a good reason. I mean a Jewish American from Springfield, MA, Dartmouth dropout, writer/artist for the propaganda corps back in WW II and famed author of numerous children's books ... somehow that doesn't scream sushi to me. Maybe he was known for loving the stuff? It's pretty authentic stuff - the man and woman who delivered it were certainly East Asian, with accents and everything. Of course, given my poor ability to guess people's national origin, we could be serving authentic Mongolian Sushi. Why not?
