Cheerful Monday
Apr. 12th, 2010 04:44 pmYes, I used the words cheerful and Monday on the same sentence without an intervening negative modifier.
It isn't like work wasn't left-over hell, because it was. Monday usually is and today was somewhat worse than average. However, I had such a great weekend that even Monday didn't spoil my mood.
First was Friday, my short work day, and paying of bills and buying of groceries. All caught up on bills. Food in the fridge. Goodness ensues.
Then Saturday with the living room cleaning and rearranging and the subsequent feeling of accomplishment.
Finally was Sunday. I got together with some former classmates at a local pizza place (which used to belong to the family of one of said classmates.) I got to hang out with folks I've not seen in many, many years. Like some of them since 1975, many of the others since 1979. We traded stories and shared memories going back to first grade - 1967-8. And there we were, middle-aged but mostly still looking younger than our years. A few of the women in particular have aged quite well, I must say.
So good times and things accomplished that I wanted to get done equals a very good weekend. Doubtless the mood will fade as the work week wears me down, but for now, goodness reigns.
