Well, I still don't know why the bank in Portsmouth stopped my automatic payments for my mortgage, but since I was planning on doing so anyway, I went and withdrew money from there and deposited it in a checking account here in Somersworth. In the process of doing that, I found that the school hasn't cashed the check for ALex's summer school yet - and it was written back in June! Sheesh. I asked them to hold it for a couple of days, not months.

Well, since I won't be making the substantial overpayments on my mortgage anymore, I will have enough for the payements on my water tank without straining my budget. Meanwhile, I still need to get an accounting of how Habitat for Humanity has been applying those overpayments for the past several years.
