Anticipation

I start my evening class, "Critical Thinking" next tuesday. I am looking forward to it eagerly. With just one possible glitch.
What if the teacher goes around the class asking, "Why are you taking this class?" There, in among the "It was required" and "I'm fascinated by the subject matter" answers will be my reply. "The local Star Trek club was too boring, so I signed up for this class."
Honestly, my major motivation is just to have *some* sort of activity to fill up a bit if my spare time. And I did try the local Star Trek club. Normal, workaday folks of various ages who got together, planned outings had a pot-luck dinner and eventually spent half an hour doing a heavily scripted, rather unimaginative and insufficiently geeky role-play.
So I'm going back to school.
