The End of Another Week

Well, this week wasn't as stressful as last week, but it was pretty busy. And stressful in a secondhand way as Amanda has been dealing with school/work/health issues. The letter she got from the doctor at the beginning of the week said her cholesterol level was high and she needs to watch her diet and get more exercise. Panic! She's 22.
Now, at the end of the week, the doctor explains to her that yes her "bad" cholesterol is elevated, but then, it's offset some by her "good" cholesterol and not to worry. Watch what she eats, yes, exercise more, sure, prozac for the anxiety, okay, but no need to panic.
Meanwhile, my own bloodwork came back and my cholesterol is fine - but my triglycerides are a bit high. A low-cholesterol diet would be helpful. Oh, and the white blood cell count is up - probably some sort of infection. Get more bloodwork done in a couple of weeks so we can check up on it.
Come next monday I have to go to the ear doctor again to get wired up so they can see if my hearing loss and tinnitus are neurological or all in my head, or something.
On the totally positive side, in this week's paycheck comes all of the money from the raise that was effective July 31st but hadn't been being paid yet. And next paycheck is when I get my bonus. Two extra-large paychecks in a row. I can pay my bills, do a little extra stuff (I'm thinking early Christmas shopping) and maybe leave some money in the savings account. For a change. GOtta start thinking aout retirement.
