Things I've Learned Watching Anime.

prophet_marcusAfter Stargate, the best thing about cable tv is Comcast On Demand. These are programs, (mostly free) that can be watched any time. The lineup includes many animes. I've finally learned about some of the classics and favorites of various friends. And of course, by watching anime, I've been able to infer many important features of Japanese Culture.
1: Most, if not all, adolescent Japanese girls are bisexual and are as likely to get into a catfight over another girl as over a boy.
2: Said catfights are likely to cause as much collateral damage as a minor war.
3: Most if not all Japanese adolescent boys are voyeuristic perverts - completely unlike American boys, of course.
4: Wise, elderly Japanese men are not only voyeuristic perverts but far more likely to try and cop a feel than their less wise younger counterparts.
5: The Japanese language has many holes in it which the Japanese are required to fill in using American words. Just listen to about half of the anime theme songs and you'll see what I mean.
6: The Japanese have some strange body-image issues which cause them to imagine that they all look European.
7: The Japanese are unusually body concious for a people who make use of public baths. Apparently, lack of body conciousness only occurs at the public baths.
